The world of Earth 464 saw catastrophe five years ago when madman Dr. Kronos took over the Inca missile systems and using the War Pathogen he had been working on for the Inca Science Syndicate, released a virus on the world that would forever change the genetic code of those in infected.
This was called the Ascension Serum.
Roughly 30% of the human population across the globe was wiped out in a matter of months, and a tiny fraction of those infected gained super-human capabilities. Dr. Kronos dubbed these individuals "The Ascended" and after releasing his manifesto all but disappeared without a trace. Major officials and other people of power suddenly went missing, presumably recruited by Dr. Kronos but nobody really knows.
It's been five years since the first outbreak, and humanity has begun to stabilize in this new world of Superhumans, though there are maybe 1 per every 500,000 humans, the United Crassian States, or UCS for short, has implemented a chipping system for monitoring the activation of Ascended powers and has made it illegal to be an unchipped Ascended known as a Delinquent.
A dimensional artificial intelligence known as LC3-L0T has made its way to Salarium, one of the major shipping and commerce cities within Earth 464 that features districts from six major nations of the world. These being the Nordic district of New Valhalla, the Mongolian District of Gher Ghoa, the Italian District of Piccola Roma, the Japanese district of the Empire Prefecture, the Roman district of the Crassian Sector, and the Nigyptian district of Omin-aju.
Welcome to Salarium, where the streets are ablaze in neon lights, a punch to the face could just be backed by titanium steel skeletal structure, or the gun you're shot with actually disintegrates you instead of giving you that flesh wound.
Mobo can often be seen in his spare time sporting a hologear over his head, fragging newbs with his online buddy Kitsune. However, by nightfall, and occasionally during the day, he works as a 7'2" muscle man for hire.
Recently, Eranimus has seen a bit of television glory as his deeds have been picked up by various news broadcasting companies, though primarily Maximus Global, the newscasting conglomerate has taken an interest in always being around when Eranimus shows his face.
Never one to share her real identity, Cipher prefers to stick to what she does best: Hacking Evil Corporations, revealing the truth of their misdeeds to the masses, and generally getting up to no good... legally that is.
Cipher works with the Hacktivist group known as the Shepards, a small time organization with a big following. There are Shepard t-shirts, mystery blogs about where they might be hiding out, and all sorts of here-say about their involvement with N0B0DY, an anarchist hacking group who tend to work for the "dark side".
Nico may look like a big buff slab of muscle, and that's because well, he is. Previously a member of the UCS military and now retired electrical engineer, Nico tends to lay low and only use his powers for good. He's one of the few hundred Ascended in Salarium that are registered with the UCS.
Generally a nice guy who takes care of people in need and helping his fellow neighbors, Spark has seen his fair share of battles as an Ascended and isn't one to back down from a fight. Especially since it's likely he can win it.
After losing his father, and his grandfather when the Ascension Serum was spread through the world; Leif found himself head of Bjornson Logistics. Having been a prime example of a rich boy chasing the ladies, living the lapse of luxury he adapted well to the role of Jarl of the Bjornson clan.
Psioniss, his Ascended moniker uses his power to thwart what Leif believes is evil and to protect his clan from those that would do it harm. He keeps his identity as secret as possible, not even his mother knows... yet.
