The Voidwalker, an entity that was once known as Azlorai Kian created a gate to the outer realms beyond that of Azlorai Sigma. This gate is known as a Void Gate. 
Banished by Ordanu, the lord of light; Azlorai seeks to take over Aldorbrynn once more, using dark whispers from beyond the veil to corrupt mortal minds.

History of Aldorbrynn

The Azlorian History

 The year is 1071 of the Age of Light. Emperor Alvern the 5th reigns over Cyrdania with a crazed madness. The People believe he has gone sick, yet can do little to stem the tide of his tyrannical hold over the country.   35 years ago Emperor Alvern Decreed the Magicide to begin, and founded an organization known as The Chrism; those who would spread like a holy oil across the land and cleanse it of its impurities. 


 The Magi, those that can wield elemental magicks were born 300 years ago and helped the people of Cyrdania from the plagues, sicknesses, and infestations of beasts and worse things that took souls from the lands. 


 They were housed in grand structures built of stone and crystal; on an island just off the coast of Cyrdania, a bridge was built in their name and times were good. Yet the good can last, only so long...  265 Years passed of peace, the Prime Magi House of Arkyncast began to notice something... the planet, was dying. Possibly due to the use of their magicks, yet nobody could figure out why this happened all of a sudden. When casting spells, crops would wither, stone crumbled, and grass died. The Highest Order of the Magi traveled far from the lands, and tried to cast high-level magicks to Wish this fallacy away from the land.  


 They decimated landscapes with their foolishness.  This knowledge brought a great fear to the people of Cyrdania, and the other Races of Aldorbrynn; they wanted answers. House Arkyncast pledged all their scientific prowess, their best people to discovering the cause, and *almost* became successful.  


 Emperor Alvern knew if these magicks kept being used, that they would destroy all they've known over the last few hundred years. His people were sick once more, the magical crops the Magi provided were dwindling, and the people had all but forgotten farming; they had to re-learn how to grow from the land that was beginning to perish. It was THEIR fault, the Magi fools had gone too far, they had no significant knowledge of where their power came from. They must be dealt with. 


 Thus, The Chrism was born, the Magicide with it; the Prime Houses were attacked by night. Chrism Assassins sent to end the lives of those that wrought this plague upon the lands of Cyrdania. However, some Magi escaped these attacks; fleeing their homes and seeking refuge with friends and family for shelter. Yet Money buys many things, one of them is fear - fear of not having that which you need. 


 The Chrism promised money in exchange for Magi who were in hiding. People went crazy, turning in their own brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, the neighbor down the street who had slighted them once last month.


It. Was. Chaos.


 Those who even showed the slightest sign of having magical tendencies were executed; yet there are still to this day those that have survived, those that won the game of hide and seek. They are preparing to strike back, rounding up allies, fighting back against the Chrism, and the Crazed Emperor Alvern. 


 Our Heroes are one such group, all have had their falling out with the Chrism in one way, or another; their fates are intertwined, each has seen the death of a friend, of a loved one. They seek answers, and vengeance for the misdeeds that have happened in their lives. So they fight, they rally their allies and prepare for the conflict ahead.    


 Not only do they contend with the Chrism, and the Magicide - there are creatures known as the EluKai, ancient and Eldritch in nature; they have returned to Aldorbrynn... but why?
